2006 Northwest Season Opener

Friday & Saturday, October 13th-14th, 2006

Eugene, Oregon

Dear Forensic Director:

This year, Corvallis High School, Crescent Valley High School, and South Eugene High School are joining together to host the Northwest Season Opener Tournament on October 13th-14th, 2006, in hopes that we, as a team, can provide competitors across the Northwest and throughout the country with an affordable and fun tournament. Though the merger of tournaments may seem a bit sudden, the tournament directors have taken many steps to assure this tournament will be fantastic in terms of competition and fall preparation for other large tournaments during the year.

In order to maximize attendance and quality competition in all events, we have made significant adaptations to the two day schedule. This tournament will be held in Eugene, Oregon making the location central for many participants. The Tournament will feature 6 preliminary rounds of Policy and LD debate that will take place on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Policy and LD Judges will be required to submit judging paradigms before the tournament and judges will be assigned based on a mutual preference system.

This tournament will be the first large Northwest tournament of the season and we anticipate a great turnout. Teams from Oregon, California and Washington have already committed to attend. We hope that your team will join us to help make this a real season kick for the Region.

We can’t wait to see you all in October!

Sincerely,

Danielle Robertson Jessica Bradley & Chris Crew Wesley Craven

Corvallis/Crescent Valley SEHS- Assistant Policy Coaches SEHS LD
